team.blue was created in June 2019 by the merger of regional leading hosting providers Combell Group, Register Group and TransIP Group and offers digital presence and enablement tools such as domains, hosting, email, VPS and applications to over 2.5 million SME, SoHo and developer customers across Europe. Your opportunity
The product strategy expert works in close collaboration with the product unit directors and the CPO on the development of the team.blue product strategy. He/she develops and maintains knowledge of market trends, technical innovation applicable to team.blue product scope and the moves from team.blue’s top 5-10 competitors.
An essential part will be focused on the inorganic growth of the business with new (adjacent) product opportunities in close collaboration with the M&A team and the product organization. In this fast-paced environment, the product strategy expert will be involved in early stages of target companies’ analysis to provide an expert’s view on the validity of their product and it’s fit with the rest of team.blue product offering across geographies, therefore being a key stakeholder in deciding to proceed or not with each individual target. Further on, he/she may continue to work on some of these targets as:
- VCP lead, creating and quantifying a clear plan about how the target company will evolve to maximize its value creation potential across functions
- Operational sponsor, remaining as team.blue’s executive representative, P&L owner and point of contact for the target’s management team for the rest of the acquisition process and the 2-3 following years post-acquisition.
He/she is able to setup business partnerships on a strategic level and is comfortable in managing contacts on all levels in an organization. He/she is able to define the product value creation strategy.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize new product opportunities for team.blue.
- Help develop long term product strategy based on market insights, technical innovations and competitive watch.
- Represent the product organization in M&A activities.
- Act as a value creation lead and/or operational sponsor in product M&A.
- Communicate the product strategy to stakeholders.
What the ideal candidate has
- More than 10 years of experience in working in a senior product or technology management position in the hosting industry.
- Has an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think strategically, linking detailed findings to their meaning in the broader picture.
- Very analytical mindset, with ability to support own intuitions and ideas with the proper data analysis and insights.
- Excellent ability to judge people and products in an objective manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
