The Senior Business Controller will partner the CTO and CPO in their activities and play an important role in creating transparency in the business drivers and ensuring strong control over the level of spend within the Tech and Product functions. They will work as a key stakeholder to senior management, bringing together regional finance teams and the functional team.
The role sits within the Group FP&A function and at peak times (month end reporting, Budget/forecast consolidation) will have the opportunity to be involved in other processes gaining an understanding of the broader business beyond the Tech and Product functions.
Acting as finance business partner to the CTO and CPO.
Working with regional finance teams and Tech and Product functions to create a common understanding of the Tech and Product cost base.
Keeping track of progress of all initiatives in the operational plan.
Prepare business cases.
Control capex and support the capex decision process.
Ensuring clear understanding of capex from both a booked and a cash perspective, consolidating month end results for capex and analysing any unexpected differences.
Taking a leading role in the budgeting and forecasting process for Tech and Product, ensuring consistency in approach across all regions and one source of the truth for assumptions.
Perform ad hoc analysis.
Follow up on the realization of synergies and other value adding plans within the Tech and Product organization.
Supporting other members of FP&A team with deliverables including month end analysis and commentary, Budget presentations and other ad-hoc requirements.
Skills and experience
Seasoned with at least 7 years of experience of which a minimum of 5 years as a controller.
Strong analytical skills.
Self-driven and ambitious.
Able to translate complex information in a structured and comprehensive format.
Highly skilled within Excel modelling and experience with BI tools is an asset.
Experience of preparing business cases is vital.
Good communication skills, able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment.
An open-minded spirit able to maintain good relationships in an international environment.
The ideal candidate has knowledge of subscription base economics and has some affinity with Information Technology, analysis of operational cost base and cross charging.
