Position Overview
We are building a new Finance Excellence Center in Lisbon (Portugal) to support our recent acquired (SaaS) companies and future acquisitions. The Excellence Center in Lisbon will support HR, Finance and other functions. The company is currently implementing a new ERP tool (NetSuite) and reviewing the current processes to improve and automate our Finance operations.
We are seeking a GL Specialist to join our team to support the Record to Report process of our newly acquired companies. The ideal candidate will have strong background in accounting and reporting and ideally in an Excellence Center or Shared Service Center setup. The ideal candidate has the experience to be able to work hands-on, contribute to the setup of new Center as well is highly motivated to contribute to Continues Process Improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key contributor in the setup of the Finance Excellence Center
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transaction and proper allocations of expenses.
- Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with company policies and general accounting standards.
- Manage month-end close process, including delivery of standardized reports, account reconciliation and yearly annual account preparation.
- Review and analyse general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies, unusual trends and propose corrective actions, as needed.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Support regional team and produce standardized reporting to support the annual statutory audit as well as tax audits.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations.
- As the team will grow; supervise and mentor GL staff, provide guidance, training and performance feedback.
- Assist with special projects and process improvement projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or other related
- Up to 5 year experience in Accounting and Reporting
- Relevant experience and track record in an international Finance environment/Share Service Center setup.
- Good understanding of applicable European GAAP and IFRS
- Fluency in English and valued other European Language
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
