Position Overview
The Master Data Specialist is responsible for the optimization of key data and finance processes across the organization. This role focuses on supporting master data management, ensuring effective KPI tracking, and assisting in finance-related process improvements. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of finance and data workflows, strong analytical skills, and experience in cross-functional collaboration to drive data accuracy, reporting, and compliance with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master Data Management
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and usage of master data entities (e.g., customer, supplier, product data) to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Standardize data across platforms and integrate master data into enterprise applications, ensuring consistent use across business units. Develop and maintain data standards, ensuring consistency and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce data access controls, ensuring data is protected against unauthorized access and breaches.
- Ensure that data handling and storage practices comply with regulatory standards, conducting regular audits to confirm compliance.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of data, from acquisition and storage to archiving and deletion, ensuring efficient data retention and disposal practices.
- Monitor, audit, and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across all systems.
- Implement data validation procedures and quality checks to prevent and correct data inconsistencies.
- Regularly perform data cleansing and de-duplication processes to improve data integrity and usability.
- Develop and maintain data management guidelines, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies.
- KPI Creation and Monitoring
- Work with department heads and stakeholders to understand strategic goals and define relevant KPIs aligned with organizational objectives.
- Develop standardized KPI frameworks across departments (e.g., GL, AP and AR) to ensure consistent measurement of performance.
- Design and build user-friendly KPI dashboards and reports for real-time monitoring and analysis, using tools such as Power BI or Excel.
- Track KPI performance over time, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Generate periodic KPI analysis reports, highlighting insights, risks, and areas for optimization.
- Identify opportunities to optimize data management, KPI monitoring, and financial processes to better support business requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in finance .
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel);and data analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
