Team Context: Part of a growing procurement function supporting team.blue's €750M+ ARR operations across 22 countries
Position Summary:
Lead and shape strategic procurement for data center infrastructure, hardware, and related technical services across our pan-European operations. This senior role requires deep expertise in IT infrastructure economics, server lifecycle management, and data center operations to drive consolidation and cost optimization. You will act as a strategic advisor to IT leadership while mentoring procurement team members and leading the infrastructure category implementation of our P2P transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Ownership (40%)
- Manage €50 million annual spend across server hardware, networking equipment, data center colocation, and infrastructure services
- Develop sourcing strategies for server refreshes and standardization initiatives
- Lead negotiations for data center contracts including power, cooling, rack space, and connectivity
- Drive hardware lifecycle planning with IT teams to optimize refresh cycles and residual value
Stakeholder Management (25%)
- Partner with IT Infrastructure, Network Operations, and Security teams across 22 countries
- Facilitate technical evaluation committees for hardware selection and proof-of-concepts
- Manage relationships with local IT managers to balance standardization with regional requirements
- Present quarterly business reviews to technical leadership on cost optimization initiatives
Commercial & Contract Management (20%)
- Structure volume agreements leveraging 3.3M customer base for better pricing tiers
- Negotiate enterprise licensing agreements for VMware, backup solutions, and monitoring tools
- Manage warranty terms, SLAs, and break-fix contracts across multiple vendors
- Implement price benchmarking against market indices for commodity hardware
Systems & Process Implementation (10%)
- Act as category lead for P2P implementation starting Q1 2026
- Define hardware-specific approval workflows, sourcing templates, and contract repositories
- Establish technical specifications library and standardized SKU catalog in P2P
- Train IT stakeholders on self-service procurement and guided buying for standard hardware
- Drive supplier enablement for PunchOut catalogs with key hardware vendors
- Build category performance dashboards and automated spend reporting
Process & Governance (5%)
- Integrate hardware procurement into P2P system with appropriate approval workflows
- Implement asset tracking from procurement through disposal/recycling
- Establish compliance frameworks for equipment standards and security requirements
Required Experience:
- 8+ years procurement experience with minimum 5 years focused on IT hardware/infrastructure categories
- Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise procurement platform (Coupa, Ivalua, GEP, SAP Ariba, Jaggaer, or similar)
- Proven track record managing data center vendor relationships (Equinix, Digital Realty, local providers)
- Experience with server/storage TCO models and capacity planning
- Understanding of networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper) procurement cycles
- Demonstrated ability to lead category-specific module implementations (catalogs, sourcing events, contract management)
- Experience defining and optimizing P2P workflows, approval matrices, and spending thresholds
- Familiarity with EU data residency requirements and infrastructure compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading P2P implementation projects, particularly:
- Procurement and Invoicing modules
- Integration with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Supplier onboarding and catalog management
- Spend analytics and reporting dashboard configuration
- Experience in hosting, cloud service provider, or telecommunications environments
- Knowledge of hyperconverged infrastructure and cloud migration economics
- Track record of driving user adoption and change management for procurement systems
- Experience with procurement analytics for spend visibility
- Experience managing €10M+ annual category spend
