Group Performance Team Lead
Drive team.blue to increased performance marketing efficiency and help us sky rocket business impact 🚀 Apply Now!
Company
team.blue is an ecosystem of 60+ successful brands working together across 22 European countries to provide its 3.5 million SMB customers with everything they need to succeed online. With a strong buy-and-build strategy, we are a mix of traditional hosting businesses that offer services from domain names, email, shared hosting, e-commerce and server hosting solutions and, as specialist SaaS providers, adjacent products such as compliance, marketing tools, and team collaboration products.
Role Overview
team.blue has built a Marketing Centre of Excellence to scale what works, eliminate duplication, and accelerate performance across 60+ brands in 22+ markets. The Performance Team Lead is a critical role within the CoE, owning the execution excellence of our performance engine (Paid Media, SEO/GEO, CRO, and Affiliate/Reseller) across the Group.
As buyer journeys grow more complex, spanning more channels, touchpoints, and AI-influenced discovery moments, this role exists to build and lead the acquisition engine that keeps team.blue competitive across all of them. AI Overviews, LLM-powered platforms, and shifting organic discovery patterns are reshaping how SMBs find and evaluate products. We need someone who has a clear view on what that means for performance strategy, and the capability to act on it.
You'll lead while staying close enough to the work to run experiments, troubleshoot performance, set credible standards, diagnose problems directly, and be the person the team looks to when things are hard.
You will report to the Group Director of Marketing and work in close partnership with Heads of Marketing and Commercial Directors, as well as Team Leads for Activation, Intelligence, and Operations.
Responsibilities
Performance Execution & Standards
Lead group-wide performance marketing delivery across Paid Media, SEO/GEO, CRO, and Affiliate channels, ensuring execution is designed for measurable acquisition impact (CAC, ROAS, new customer volume).
Develop and implement execution standards, tooling, and frameworks that enable consistency and quality across brands and markets.
Maintain clear visibility across the portfolio, surfacing performance gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities through real-time dashboards and sprint reviews.
Ensure budget allocation decisions are grounded in data and aligned to performance goals across the group.
GEO Programme Leadership
Lead the delivery of a multi-brand AI discovery (GEO) programme running June–November 2026 - team.blue's most significant organic initiative this year.
Coordinate across Organic Search, Content & Localisation, Intelligence, and market brand teams to brief and execute brand-level GEO programmes.
Own programme pace, brand relationships, and commercial outcomes.
Test, Learn, Scale
Champion a rigorous experimentation culture: design rapid tests, review outcomes, and scale what works across brands.
Identify emerging channels, formats, and technologies; evaluate fit for the group and drive controlled adoption.
Build repeatable experimentation frameworks that specialists across the team can operate independently.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead a team of performance marketing managers and specialists (Paid Media, SEO/GEO, CRO, Affiliate) across regional pods.
Provide clear performance direction through agile sprint planning, bi-weekly reviews, and quarterly planning cycles.
Develop managers who build and mentor their own specialists - coaching for long-term capability growth, not task completion.
Foster cross-channel knowledge sharing - ensuring wins, learnings, and best practices move quickly across the team rather than staying siloed.
What Success Looks Like:
The GEO programme delivered across participating brands, with measurable commercial impact and a repeatable framework the team can run again without starting from scratch.
Upskilled Performance team, operating at the highest standards, delivering on or above targets, developing their specialists, and escalating less.
Execution standards in place across Paid Media, SEO/GEO, CRO, and Affiliate that are consistent yet flexible to serve our brands.
The Performance pillar recognised by brand and market teams as a function that makes their work better and helps them helps them move faster and perform better.
Requirements
Experience
8+ years in performance marketing, with meaningful time leading multi-brand or multi-market delivery - not just single-brand campaigns at scale.
Hands-on depth in at least two of: Paid Media (Search, Social, Programmatic), SEO/GEO, CRO, Affiliate. Enough technical grounding to diagnose a channel problem without needing a summary first.
Track record of building or rebuilding a performance function - not just inheriting a mature one. You've had to create standards where there weren't any.
Experience operating in agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban, or Scrumban) is a genuine plus.
Capabilities
Grounded understanding of how AI platforms - AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, LLM-driven discovery - are reshaping organic and paid performance, and a clear view on how acquisition strategy should respond.
Strong analytical rigour - comfortable with attribution models, BI dashboards, and using data to make and defend decisions.
Able to sit with a Paid Media Manager, an Organic Search Manager, or a Growth Optimisation Manager and meaningfully diagnose a performance problem - not just ask for a summary of it.
Effective at managing upward and laterally in matrix organisations - you can influence without authority and resolve competing priorities without escalating everything.
Able to translate complex performance data into clear commercial narratives for senior stakeholders and non-specialists
Skilled at developing managers, not just specialists: you coach for long-term growth, and the people who report to you become more capable and autonomous over time.
Ways of Working
Execution-first mindset - you stay close to the work and hold high standards for quality and pace.
Builder mindset - the CoE is newly launched and standards are being defined now. People who need a mature, fully-resourced function to thrive tend to find this harder than they expect.
Collaborative and transparent - you share context freely, flag issues early, and build trust through follow-through.
Comfortable with ambiguity; you build clarity rather than wait for it.
Language
Fluent in English and at least one additional European language.
Right to work
At any stage, please be prepared to provide proof of eligibility to work in the country you're applying for. Unfortunately, we are unable to support relocation packages or sponsorship visas.
