With a strong buy-and-build strategy, we are a mix of traditional hosting businesses that offer services from domain names, email, shared hosting, e-commerce and server hosting solutions and, as specialist SaaS providers, adjacent products such as compliance, marketing tools, and team collaboration products.
Role Overview
We’ve built a centralized payments infrastructure - branded OnPay - to embed payment capabilities across our portfolio companies and serve merchants directly. The infrastructure is live. The partnerships are in place. Now we need someone to lead the business.
We’re looking for someone with deep experience in payments - who understands how a PSP works from the inside: the margin stack, the pricing mechanics, the distribution problem, the product tradeoffs - and who can apply that knowledge to building and scaling a payments business. This is a role with real P&L responsibility, distribution leverage through a large software portfolio, and the backing of a well-resourced PE-backed group.
Responsibilities
Go-to-Market & Distribution
Defining and executing the commercial strategy for OnPay - how we reach merchants, through which channels, and at what pace. Distribution options span embedded payments within our portfolio companies, plugin ecosystems such as WooCommerce, agency and partner channels, and direct merchant acquisition. The right sequencing and prioritization of these channels is a core responsibility of this role.
P&L Leadership
Full ownership of the OnPay P&L - setting revenue targets, managing the cost structure of the payments function, tracking performance against plan, and reporting to group leadership. This includes building business cases for new initiatives and being accountable for delivering against them.
PSP & Partner Relationships
Leading the commercial relationships with our core processing and infrastructure partners. This includes contract negotiations, pricing discussions as volume grows, and ongoing governance. The right candidate will be fluent in the economics of these relationships and know how to manage them effectively without overcomplicating the partner landscape.
Internal Leadership & Voice of Payments
You will be the senior payments leader across team.blue - the primary point of contact for group leadership, portfolio company GMs, and external partners alike. You’ll align product, commercial, and finance teams around a shared direction, represent the payments function at board level, and ensure OnPay is understood and embraced as a strategic priority across the group.
Operational Execution
Driving the payments initiative forward on a day-to-day basis - managing priorities across workstreams, keeping delivery on track, and ensuring the team is focused on what matters. This role operates in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and requires the organizational discipline to maintain momentum without losing sight of the broader strategic objectives.
Requirements
You have deep experience in payments - specifically in the PSP space. You understand how payments businesses are built, how the economics work, and what it takes to bring a payments product to market. A background in senior commercial, product, or operational roles at a PSP - or having built one - is the foundation we’re looking for. You bring firsthand knowledge of the full payments value chain and are ready to apply it in a leadership capacity.
Beyond that, we’re looking for someone who:
Has owned a P&L or operated with clear accountability for commercial outcomes.
Understands go-to-market in a payments context: merchant acquisition, channel strategy, and what drives adoption.
Has enough product intuition to engage substantively with product and engineering teams - shaping priorities and asking the right questions - without needing to run the roadmap.
Can negotiate and manage commercial agreements with major payment infrastructure providers from a position of knowledge.
Is comfortable as a visible senior leader across a complex, multi-brand organization.
Has the judgment to focus on what matters and drive it to completion.
Is fully fluent in English (both written and spoken).
Useful but Not Essential
Experience with e-commerce platforms and plugin or marketplace distribution ecosystems.
Familiarity with the EU regulatory and compliance landscape (PSD2, PCI-DSS, SCA, KYC).
Background in SaaS or software businesses, particularly embedded financial services models.
Experience in PE-backed or portfolio company environments.
Fluency in additional European languages.
